Yard Sale Find
Thomas took me to a yard sale yesterday after therapy. They had lots of quilt tops for $15 each. I picked out the this one, which is a full size and hand stitched. I washed it and hung out to dry. I love it.

The Feisty Stitcher
Knee surgery went great. I had a torn meniscus and plica. Have to stay off of it until tomorrow, then I'll go to physical therapy. I've had no pain so far (no medications).
I got The Feisty Stitcher at Joann's last week. I see so many projects I want to do.
Here's a few samples

Pyrex and sheet
Another beautiful sheet. Just not sure how I'll sure it yet.
Leslie's Block
Leslie sent some very beautiful fabrics, but I needed a lighter fabric for the triangles. Also she didn't have enough to do them all the same color. I think it turned out pretty. I'll be senting it out today.

Working on a snowball and 9 patch quilt
Working on the Vintage Sewing Bee made me want to start another quilt and challenge myself. I've always wanted to try the snowball block.
I got my pattern from Better Homes and Gardens Teach yourself to Machine-Quilt (from Joann's).
Snowball patch is combined with a nine-patch block and has triangles along the border. I'm only using my scraps and any fabrics I have that will match.

Shirred Nightgowns
I'm really getting addicted to shirring. I made 3 gowns for the girls. This first one is my favorite. I love the embroidery at the bottom.
I forgot to add this tutorial came from Flossie Teacakes.

New dress on Etsy
Tried my hand at shirring the top on this pillowcase dress. I really like it. Just added it to my shop. My Mom had given me the adorable crocheted lace at the bottom of the dress. It's cotton and probably about 30 years old. The pillowcase was already embroidered when I got it.

Vintage Sheet Quilt
I've chosen my sheets for the Vintage Sheet Freedom Bee hosted by Deb at Works in Progress.
I chose the Tennesse block from Quilters Cache.
Here's the finished block. Can't wait to get started on the other 11 blocks for my fellow quilters.

Antique store finds
Went to a few antique stores last week and found some things I really like.
This scarf has some bad stains that wouldn't come out, but look at the lace. It is beautiful. I've got some plans for this.
Beautiful dresser scarf.
This is a very small scarf.
I love these napkins. There are 2 of each design. I'm thinking of making a tablecloth with them.
I have another tablecloth that is yellow where this one is red. I love both of them.
Who remembers Rainbow Brite? My daughter was so into Rainbow when she was small. She had the doll, the horse and the little character riding behind.

New clothes for the girls
It was soooooooo hot yesterday and a good day to stay in, soooooo I made the girls these outfits. The skirts were simply measure cut and add elastic. The tops are McCalls 9369. Little girls look cute in these little short tops, but they didn't want any belly to show. I added lace to Ruby's and later added lace to Layla's. They weren't too crazy about their backs showing either. Ruby's is thrifted fabric from last week and Layla's came off the bolt at Joann's last Summer.
Look at those tans. They just came back from swimming.

Celebrate Summer with 2 New dresses
I needed some cute Summer dresses. This one is from Butterick 5038. I had to cut about 2 inches off the straps and take in the sides about an inch. It has a zipper and was pretty easy to make. The fabric was given to me a few years ago.
This one is Simplicity 5558. It's my favorite. It ties in the back and is very long from a thrifted sheet.

My Shop is Open
I've been wanting to open an etsy shop for a while and I finally did it. I know there's a lot of shops that sell the same thing I do, but I'm hoping you will try me out.
I want to add bags and pillowcase dresses.
I have a lot of local friends that wanted me to do this. So here it is.
