Purses and Aprons added to my Etsy Shop

Today I decided to open my Etsy Shop again. I have made quite a few things lately and wanted to sell them. Apron at the top modeled by my beautiful daughter is made from an upcycled pair of jeans with vintage fabric and ric rak on the pockets.
This is a child size apron from a thrifted tablecloth. Also have an adult size. They really are cute.

I've also added 4 new bags so come by for a visit.

Thanks, Brenda

Jessica's Apron

Ruby is modeling an apron I made for my friend Jessica. She wanted this vintage sheet with ruffles, lace and anything else I wanted to add.  Ruby wants one exactly like it only a dress.

Jessica doesn't know it yet, but I just had to make one for her little Charleigh Rose. I think she'll love it too.

Thrifty Monday

First of all I found this adorable apron with pocket. Not sure if it's homemade, but I like it.
I couldn't believe I found these awesome patterns. This one is a slip pattern dated 1931.

The first one is a Simplicity for .25 without a date. The next one is dated 1948 and the third one is 1953.

The first one is 1948, the second one has no date and the third one is 1964.
I will be putting these in my shop. Thanks for stopping by.

Monday Thrift Finds

This is an adorable little yellow apron with hand crocheted peach lace. I will be putting this in my shop.
Not the best picture, but this is a dresser scarf embroidered on both ends. Shop? maybe.
2.5 yards 60" wide of the blue dotted swiss and the peach dotted swiss is 4 yards 45" wide. Picked up this pattern from 2000. I think one of these fabrics will become the sleeveless dress for Easter.

More thrifting on Friday

Ruby and I took a trip to Nashville and thrifted at some of my favorite places. We went to Goodwill on Nolensville Rd., Thrift Smart and Music City Thrift Store. We had a good day and found lots of deals.

Found this beautiful pillowcase for $1.00. It's not the best quality, but I'll use the embroidery on something else.Look at this adorable apron for $1.49. It was handmade and very detailed. Layla is modeling it more me.
Two sets of pillowcases that need to be embroidered. Can't wait to start on them. This is a canister for $1.99. Stamped on the bottom is " Woodpecker Woodware, made in Japan".
Looks like they made a lot of things in the 50's and 70's.

Christmas after Thanksgiving tree and an apron

We had a great Thanksgiving. Hope everyone else did. I always use my Grandmother Marlin's serving platter. I got it when she passed away and we are always reminded of the many Thanksgivings we spent at her house. The perfect turkey platter. This is the apron I made from a kit my Aunt Louise gave me. My Layla got her wish and we put up the tree. The cute little dress she's wearing was also worn by her Mom when she was about 5 years old.

Thrifting and sad news from a friend

I love this dresser scarf. It's got a few spots I need to clean and fix. Not a good picture of the hen, she's not perfect. Can't wait to try those cute doll clothes.

Got the apron a few weeks ago. Love it.
Got this T-shirt transfer kit at "Tuesday Morning" (higher end Big Lots). Can't wait to try it out.
On a more somber note: The wife of a good friend of mine passed away yesterday. She had been battling colon cancer for a few years. They are expecting their first grandchild in November. They both wanted grandchildren so bad. I worked with him for many years. He is definitely a good guy and loved his wife dearly. Rest in peace Martha Lynn.

Look at these .99 dollies

Got these adorable dolls for .99 each at Goodwill. I wanted to make them some clothes and fix their hair. They came over today and saw them on the couch (where I took the picture). I forgot to move them. Ruby would not put hers down for anyone. Layla did let me bring hers home, so I'll be making clothes for them.

Also got 2 hand embroidered pillowcases for $1.50 each, 2 scarfs for $1.50 each and apron for $2.00.

New Apron from vintage curtains

I found these vintage curtains back in August and just finished the apron I had planned on making. The fabric was very fragile, so I had to be very careful with it. I really like the way it turned out.

Thrift finds and time with the grandkids

First I'll show the beautiful Ruby showing off the 3 separate pieces I found. They weren't together and I got them at different places. I found the skirt and hat a while back. The top came from Goodwill this week. The red top Layla is wearing came from Goodwill and matches her skirt perfectly. Also found Ruby's dress there. It was brand new and has a headband.

We all went to the movies Friday to see "Night at the Musuem II". Jakob wanted to see it. It was okay. I had to take out a small loan to pay for movie and snacks. For the 4 of us I spent $50.00. I didn't buy anything for me.
Found this material at a different store. I see a dress or skirt in my future.
Got this gingerbread apron at Goodwill for $.99
This is an apron hanger for my dining room.
I love this candle holder.

Thrifting on Wednesday

At one store I found pack of ribbons, zipper, 1/3 yard material and 1/2 Curious George flannel material, and a cute pattern.

At Goodwill I found 3 adorable aprons $1.99 each, 4 shirts and a skirt for $.99 each. Some of the shirts are XL. Not sure what to make out of them yet.
