2 new bags

Made 2 more bags. This is an easy pattern I got from Autumn at Creative Little Daisy. I made a few changes with the straps. Used my stash and the lining from a sheet I've used many times. Still have some of it left. The top bag is my favorite, but that's for Robbie. The bottom one is mine, but looks more like Spring, so I'll save it.

Layla's first hunting trip

Layla had her first hunting trip. She's my little girlie girl and it's hard to believe she wants to hunt. Her Dad and Uncle Steve took her Saturday in her new camouflage outfit. She was so happy she shot a squirrel with her Dad's help. I guess she can still be girlie girl and hunt squirrels. She looks more like a little solider.

By the way they do eat what they kill.

Day After Christmas

Tink looks happy the day after Christmas. Some of their toys get left here. That's okay. Layla loves her sewing machine. Just sitting down to teach her will be something else.

December 26th is a lonely day for me. After all of the excitement and cheer. It's just like any other day now. I don't go for the big sales. I'm usually pretty anxious to take all the decorations down, but not today. I need to rest. My husband had to go back to work today.

Also, feels like a good day to go on a diet. Food doesn't sound good at all. Coffee is still good.

Hope all of my friends at my old job had a great Christmas. I miss you all very much.

Merry Christmas to all

We all had a wonderful Christmas. Celebrating with lots of great food and family. Hope everyone else did too.

Ruby let Layla borrow one of her Dora outfits.
My little princess Ruby in all her glory. She loved the dress I made, along with other Dora outfits in a treasure chest. She carried around her box the rest of the night.

The girls wore their new dresses to church Sunday. I have 3 in my Sunday School Class. Ruby, Layla, and Maddie ( My cousin's daughter).

This rocker was our Grandmothers. Mom came it to my brother Jeff to refinish and gift to his daughter for Christmas (the expecting daughter). I did the cushions and the skirt. Lelia picked out the material from my stash.

Christmas gifts I've made

The lounging pants are for my daughter (made from my sheets stash). Hope she likes them. Made from Simplicity 7092. Takes an hour, just like the pattern states. The rest is for Ruby and Layla. The capes and dresses were from Butterick pattern 4680. Embroidered their initials from Designs By Sick. I bought a membership last year and downloaded lots of great designs. The membership price went up, but still not bad. I also had to buy "The amazing box" in order to transfer to my machine. I bought it 2 years ago and it was $150. The results are wonderful. There are a lot of sites with free designs (Ann the Gran is great). I've used it many times.
The dotted swiss and fleece are from my stash. I had to buy the ribbon, 1 zipper and lining for the dresses. I still have 3 yards left of that material.

And look at that scene today

And look out that window today. Got a little snow. It will be gone in a few hours when the temps get to 40's. I was in it last night and the drivers were crazy. What should have taken 30 minutes to get home took an hour. It clung to the trees and was so pretty.

My ornaments

Got the idea for my ornaments from this site. I did the back with red felt, like she did. Jakob's picture is from 2003 Christmas. I will make more for my family.View from my gloomy room the past 2 days. It has rained so much and is very cold, above freezing.

Visit with Santa

My babies with Santa yesterday. We had a fun time at the mall and shopping with Lori. We left home at 8:30 AM and got home at 4:00 PM. It was a long day and by 1:00 Ruby was ready for a nap and let us know that. She was so happy to see Santa. Layla was happy too, but she was doughtful this was the real Santa. Ruby is in to dressing up and loves princess outfits. So I did my best to make her one. Made with my stash. The under dress is a pooh sheet and got the rest at yard sales and thrifting.

Christmas presents

Christmas will be here before you know it. I have really enjoyed being at home and decorating, sewing and just enjoying life.

Made this messager bag for my niece. It was a very difficult pattern. I probably won't make that one again.
Got this pattern idea for the cosmetic bag from "Sewing with Nancy". I've made 2 of them. It was so easy to make.

These are for Layla and Ruby. The pattern was super simple. Jacket is 2 pieces.
