Gown from pillowcases and sheet

Layla's little gown is made from 2 knit pillowcases (cut the front from 1 and the back from the other. Had just enough to make the sleeves. Ruby's is made from a sheet. She wanted shorts with her gown. They are definitely cute enough to wear anywhere. I used Butterick 4910 and it was so easy. I had 2 gowns cut and made in an hour.

Thrifted China.

I found 2 of these china tea cup and saucers. Not a great picture of the sugar bowl, but it looked really old and I couldn't pass it up.
I just love the little cracks in the bowl.
I know this tea pot is straight from the late 60's or early 70's. Love the sunflowers.

They are moved in

They have been staying in the house since last Sunday and today got everything finally moved. That was a chore in itself. She has lots of stuff. The girls room and Jakob's room is decorated, but the rest may take a while.

My brother is a genius. He built every little bit of the stairs and all of the cabinets in the kitchen and bath. The upstairs area is a family room. I bought the pan rack for her birthday in December. It was handmade from scrap metal. I will show more pictures when she has it decorated.

Sewing again

I finally got to make a new Spring purse. I had made these squares last Winter and just found them again. I added a border from a pillowcase at the top and a different pillowcase for the inside. The strap is from the top of a sheet. Just the right size for me.

Happy Valentine's Day Ruby and Layla

I do love Pinterest. You can really get some great ideas. My grandkids like it too. Layla really loved this cat, so I did my version for her. Ruby's horse was a pattern from SEW IT, STUFF IT. The horse is a vintage tablecloth that Ruby has been wanting me to cut for a long time. So Happy Valentine's Day my girls. Hope you love them.

Owl Pillow for Layla

Layla found an owl on Pinterest and we had to try it. She wanted it really big and fat. So we made it 38" long. She picked out one of my vintage sheets and will sleep with it tonight. She really loves her owl.

Goodwill 1/2 off sale

I only went to one Goodwill Saturday and it was packed with people because of 1/2 off day. Just couldn't believe I found all of these great items. The little red jar at the top is pretty small and so vintage. It was used as a sugar bowl ( still had some in it.). It was $.99.

Got 4 of these carnival glass punch bowl cups @ $.25 each.
I love this tea pot. Looks 1960's to me. It was $2.50.

I still thrift

Sometimes I forget to post all of my thrift finds. I found all of these at an antique store really cheap. I really love this pretty dresser scarf.

I got 2 of these with the birds. They would make some lovely pillows.
