I got this new book called Sewing for Children. It has some pretty simple instructions with a little guidance from an adult.
This weekend we did the yo-yo necklace.
Layla picked out everything and I helped her make the necklace. She made it for her friend's birthday.
Then she made this sewing box from a tin. Well, we followed the directions, but the lid won't fit after the fabric is put on. She's also giving this to her friend.

Oh wow those are such great projects. How touching that a little girl is making beautiful gifts for her friend's birthday. I think my daughter would love to make a yo-yo necklace. xo
