Relay purse

This is another purse I had made for the relay event. It's also Rebeka 's pattern at artyscraftybabe. They didn 't sell, but I have another chance to sell them, because we'll be having other events. Thanks Bekki. They are easy and a lot of fun to make.

Ruby's Easter Dress

Layla and Ruby both wanted the same Easter dress so I went to Hobby Lobby and found some fabric I knew Ruby would like ( it sparkles). Here it is in all it's glory. Sorry for the ugly background. On Easter I wil get a picture with the girls in their new clothes.

Relay event

They both went a little crazy with the face and body paint. Layla has "I love Lizards" on one arm and "I love Frogs" on the other and she's a cat. Not sure what Ruby supposed to be.

We all had a great time at the Relay for Life event on Saturday night. We made a little over $6,000. Can you believe it? Our goal is $10,000 and so far we've reached $8,000.

Thrift Score at Goodwill

Went to Goodwill store in Dickson last night and found some great stuff. These adorable dresses were $.99 each. I'm thinking of adding some lace or something to the lilac dress.
I think these are napkins. I can see an apron from these two. They were $.99 for both.

2 pillowcases $.99 each

These look like dish towels but were never used as that. Because they are still perfect. They really look homemade, but not sure. All 3 were $1.49

Brooch from hankie

I've been admiring Disney's blog at Ruffles and Stuff for quite some time and finally decided to try one of her projects. I used a hankie I brought at an antique store last summer. It didn't turn out as good as Disney's, but I like it and added the little pearl.

Phoebe bag for Relay

Rebeka from Artsy crafty babe gladly came me permission to sell these Phoebe bags at the Relay for Life benefit on Saturday. I've got more to make. Hope we make lots of money for the cancer society.

Easter purses and a new Easter dress

Got the purses made to match their cute dresses.

I had a problem with the dresses. They both want the one with the wide skirt. Can't blame them a bit. I originally made it for Layla, but they both can wear it. Yesterday I went to Hobby Lobby and picked out some sparkly fabric. Hope that will satisfy Ruby.

Thrifting again

Another saucer to add to my dessert collection.
I love these candle lanterns ($1.50 each). I think their brass. The statue is for my "Vickie Memorial Flower Garden" ($1.99). My friends have gotten me many plants for this.
More pillowcases. You can never have enough. The one on the far left is a sheet. I had this pillowcase once and used it on my quilt.

Easter dresses

I will try to get a picture of the girls wearing these. I've had this fabric about 3 years and even bought the correct amount for a pattern I got at the same time (never used the pattern.) The gathered dress is from Simplicity 5229 and the other is Simplicity 4927. I was so glad I had enough to make 2 dresses (although I wanted to make them both by the 5229 pattern). I'm also making 2 purses from the 5229 pattern. The lace was given to me from my Aunt Louise ( love you).

Relay items and a purse for me

Made this purse from a pillow sham I got last year. The lining is from the back of the sham. I really liked it and wanted to use it, but never found anything to match in my bedroom. Pattern is Butterick 4624.
Made the rice bag and the 2 cup holders for the Relay for Life baskets.

Time to get back

It's time. Vickie's gone and she would want me to get on with the business at hand. That is to work on our Relay for Life team for the American Cancer Society. Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll be posting things I've made.

Funerals have a way of bringing people back together. I saw a lot of people I haven't seen in a while. Thanks Vickie.

Vickie

My sister Vickie passed this morning around 12:30 AM. This picture is the only image I could see after she passed away. She looks like an angel here. The other girl (me) not so much. Cancer is so devastating. I pray for a cure every day. Thanks to all of my friends for their support and prayers during this time. I love you all.

Rice bag and Ipod Touch pouch

At our RELAY FOR LIFE benefit on March 27th we're having a live auction and a silent auction. So far I've made this rice bag for a Rejuvenation Basket (bought lotions and pink bath towels for this). We get businesses in the area to donate items and we also buy items or make them to add to the baskets. We're having a Coffee Basket so I've bought coffee cups, a couple of different coffees and Starbucks donated coffee. I plan on making some coffee mug holders and coasters.

I made this pouch for Ashley's Ipod Touch. The button is vintage (I have one more of these). The picture looks yellow, but it's not really yellow. She loved it.
