A little Goodwill

I usually don't find many glass items, but today I found this cute bud vase. The bottom is marked "Hoosier Glass 4092". Does anyone know the year these were made? I found this on the internet but couldn't find any dates.
Also I found these 2 waterproof diapers. Little Ruby still has problems at night and naptime. I wanted to make some, but these were only $1.99 each at Goodwill. They seem pretty thick so I hope they work out.

Music City Thrifting

I can never turn down zippers. All of these were in one pack for $1.98 at Music City Thrift Store. I really like this place. They put a lot of small things in bags and mark it one price. Also got these sheets and pillowcases there. Got 2 of the Christmas pillowcases and want to make gowns for the girls for Winter. I did good.
Today I finished Ruby's quilt and guess what I forgot to take a picture. She wanted to take it home tonight so I'll get one this weekend.

Organizing again

Just can't help myself. I just have to have order in my sewing area and want to be able to see everything. I bought the button keepers at Joann's (40% off-$4.00 each). Already had the baskets and the shelf. I made the wall hanging button keeper with some fabric I had and a sheet of plastic from Joann's. Love it.

Little Ruby Blue Eyes
Layla's been wanting to go to Chuckie Cheese for a long time, so I decided it was time. Layla , Ruby and I went and Jakob stayed at my son Anthony's comic book shop "Outer Limits".Didn't get many good pictures of Layla. She was constantly moving. Ruby wouldn't make a move without me. A good time was had by all.

Ruby's quilt pieced

I pieced Ruby's quilt and now I've already started quilting. I'll be sure and show you when I'm finished. She's so excited and can't wait to cuddle up to it. My babies are spending the night and I'll be keeping them tomorrow. The girls are playing Barbies and Jakob is watching wrestling.

I want to sew

It's been a while since I've got to sew. If the grandkids are here I just can't sew. I can shuck corn and cut it off the cob though. Yesterday I was really busy with corn. The kids were so good. They played next to me in the garage with their furniture my brother gave them. He made these for his girls and their just about grown now.

Thrifting today

Went to Goodwill today and got some goodies. They had lots of zippers, but I didn't need them all. The pillowcase is handmade and very cute. I'm sure the yellow lace is crocheted. I've got to find something pretty special for that.

Just got the fabric for Ruby's quilt. I was waiting for the sale this week. It's Debbie Mum and it was buy 2 yards, get 1 free. I'll be busy with that for a while.

The weather is so beautiful here. My husband and I went motorcycle riding today and it was great.

Thrifted baby crib sheets

I got 2 cute little baby crib sheets for .59 at a thrift store. They look really vintage to me, but who knows. I don't have any little babies that need them, but I know I'll use them for something one day.

Ruby's new quilt

My daughter Lori blanket stitched these cute little dutch girls for Ruby's new quilt. She has 6 different ones, 2 of each. Lori made one for Layla 4 years ago. She also did the blanket stitching on the girls and I pieced everything and quilted it.

Repurposed 2 men's shirts

This looks much better on, because it fits so well. First time I actually made my own pattern and it fit me. I got the idea from Mama Made It and Cindy Lou, but not exactly like theirs. I put darts in the front so it would fit better and have one ruffle all the way around.

I got these shirts back in May for $.99 each.

The other shirt is from Simplicity 3835. I put the buttons in the back and added the shirt pocket at the bottom. I didn't hem either shirt, just used what was already there.

Fun on the Fourth

Finally got a good picture of all 3 babies before we left for the festivities. The girls loving on their big brother.Ruby and her Dadoe. My handsome, wonderful husband. We all had a wonderful 4th at my in-laws. This is the 35th time I've been there on the 4th and it's pretty much always the same. This is the first year I can remember that it wasn't as humid. The family has multiplied so much. Lot's of great barbecue and other food.
My sister spent the night with us and we sit out on my backporch and watched fireworks from one of my neighbors.

SpongeBob gown

I had to make this gown last night. My grandkids are spending the night and well it I just had to sew it. There was only enough fabric to make 1 gown from the crib sheet. I did find another Spongebob gown yesterday so I do have 2 gowns. We'll see what happens.
