Party for Anthony

We had a 30th birthday party for my son Anthony. So hard to believe he will 30 tomorrow morning at 5:01 AM. Love you and hope you have a Happy Birthday.

Pillowcase Dress

My first pillowcase dress. Made for Layla 4, but also fits Ruby 2. The pillowcase had a really cute scallop on the edge.

The grandchildren are doing great. Saw them last night. They had a little swimming excursion at great aunt Carla's. We had a great time.

I'm making some dresses for my grandchild Halley. She's 13, will be 14 in August. She gets to go to Japan next month through her dad's work. I will have to get her to model them.

The relay on Friday went well. Our group raised $7,000. Very good.

Friday Thoughts

I don't have my camera with me at work so it's hard to post. Last night I did make an apron and a purse. I will have to download pictures this weekend.

Tonight is Relay for Life here in Franklin, TN. It starts at 6:00PM tonight and ends tomorrow morning at 6:00AM. Right now it is pouring down rain (which we really need here). Hope it's nice tonight for the relay.

I helped raise money with Old Hope Church of Christ. As of Sunday we had raised $6,500. Our goal was $5,000. I now have another $100 to turn in tonight (from generous people at my work).

My sister Vickie has been suffering with cancer for about 2 years now. She was in remission for 12 years and it came back. She has good days and bad days. I hope today is a good one.

The grandkids will be there tonight. My generous cousin from Oklahoma (thanks, Peggy) came me $20 to spend on them tonight. I'm sure we will spend a lot more.

My simple dress

The infamous Simplicity 3835. It really is easy. No zipper in back and darts (thanks, Lera).

Purse for Vickie

Purse made from Vogue 8098. My second one. Pretty easy.

Family reunion Saturday. Layla with cousin Kaylie from Oklahoma.

My First Blog

It's my first day as a blogger. Thanks to Lera (the sky is pink). She has given me such inspiration and maybe some new confidence in my sewing.

My blog will be about my grandchildren, Jakob, Layla, and Ruby and sewing (my favorite thing to do). I do have a job, so I sew at night staying up too late.
